The provincial volleyball championship in 2019 has contributed to promoting the movement of sports in general and volleyball in particular in the province.
The Sports sector of the province has united and tried to improve the quality from the movements of physical training and sports at the grassroots to high-achievement sports, achieving impressive results. They have won a total of 81 medals, including 31 gold medals, 22 silver medals, 28 bronze medals. Six athletes have won the title of grandmaster and 5 athletes have won the title of the national level 1, 3 contestants have been summoned to the national cycling team.
At the National Mountain Bike Championship for Youth and the National Mountain Bike Championship in 2019, the province's athletes won 10 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. At the 11th National Sports Contest for Ethnic Minorities, Region I in 2019 in Bac Kan, the province excellently won the first group prize with 6 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals. The high-achievement sports our province has been constantly developing and is gradually asserting its position in the professional sports arena.
The socialization of sports activities has been strengthened by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with other departments, agencies, unions of the province and People's Committees of the districts and the city to mobilize organizations and businesses in the area to invest and support to organize many sports tournaments from province to grassroots.
The movement of mass sports in localities also has positive changes. 208 out of the 210 communes, wards and towns organized the Olympic Running Day for the health of the whole people with over 92,000 participants, reaching 10.8% of the provincial population.
Sports movement has constantly expanded to every village and hamlet and has been attracting all classes of people. The number of people who practice sports regularly reaches 32.2% of the total population, the number of sports families reaches 24.5% of the total number of households in the province. 805 sports clubs at the grassroots have maintained their regular activities, contributing to improving the health of the people and promoting the movement of sports and physical exercise at the grassroots. From the movement of mass sports and sports competitions at the grassroots, many promising faces have been recruited to foster and train.
The officials, the civil servants, the guides, the sports collaborators of the districts, the towns, the communes and the wards are regularly trained and fostered to raise their professional qualifications in sports and the quality of the activities of sports and physical exercise from the movement to the professional.
