(HBO) - The organising board of the culture and tourism week in Hoa Binh province in 2019 on April 4 held a conference to discuss a plan on the implementation of the event. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Chuong chaired the conference.

The week is scheduled to take in late October and early November, 2019 at the provincial level, with the participation of a number of adjacent localities. This is a large-scale political and cultural event of the province, aiming to introduce and honour local national cultural identity and national cultural heritages.

It also aims to honour Hoa Binh's cultural values and promote images of local land and people, as well as the locality’s potential of cultural and tourism development to domestic and international visitors.

The week will include a carnival, a beauty contest, an exhibition featuring cultural heritages of the ethnic minority groups of Thai, Tay, Dao and Mong; and introducing Mo Muong culture. It will also introduce foods and specialties of Hoa Binh. 

A festival featuring traditional trade villages, a workshop on tourism development in Hoa Binh, a photo exhibition on Hoa Binh, and progammes to promote tourism connection will be also held in the framework of the event. 

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Chuong said this is the first meeting of the organising board to collect opinions for the organisation plan of culture and tourism week. 

Based on opinions of delegates, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will summarise and finalise the plan to submit to members of the organising board for approval, he said.

After 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, dated October 11, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of Hoa Binh province's ethnic groups in the period of 2021 – 2025 with the orientation to 2030 (NQ04), it has mobilized the participation of the entire political system, the people from all walks of life and there have been positive changes. So far, out of the 10 targets of NQ04, 3 targets have been met and exceeded the plan set for 2025. Typically, 70% of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) of ethnic groups in the province is on the list of the national ICH items and they have been protected and restored, exceeding 20% of the proposed Resolution.
