(HBO) - In recent years, high achievement sports of the province has made many new steps, outstanding performances and gradually had achievements in the national and international tournaments. Hoa Binh has athletes who were qualified Level 1 athletes, national-level athletes, athletes selected to the national team, which contribute to improve the sports status of the province in the region and the country.


Our provincial cycling team competed in Dalat Victory Chalengen Cycling Tournament of 2018 winning 4 gold medals and 4 bronze medals.

 

At the third National Sports Festival in 1995, our provincial sports delegation attended 3out of 26 subjects including: athletics, chess and draught; they competed in 288 sets of medals but did not win any medals. At the 4th National Sport Festival in 2002, the provincial sports delegation attended 4 out of 30 subjects including: athletics, crossbow shooting, tug of war, chess; they competed in 526 sets of medals and achieved 1 silver medal of crossbow shooting, ranking at 54 out of 64 provinces and cities in the country participating.

At the Seventh National Sports Festival in 2014, our province attended 7 out of 36 subjects, including: cycling, weightlifting, athletics, karate, boxing, traditional martial arts, and wrestling; they competed in 743 sets of medals and won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals, ranked at the fourth of 19 mountainous provinces; then they were honorably given the flag of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the five mountainous provinces with excellent achievements.

Recently, in 2017, the province selected 260 athletes to participate in 8 junior competitions, 13 regional tournaments and national championships, winning in total 20 gold medals, 17 silver medals and 24 bronze medals. In the first 4 months of 2018, our province has selected athletes to participate in 3 tournaments and won 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 2 bronze medals in the categories of Tien Phong Newspaper Marathon Competition in Daklak, Weightlifting Championship for the National Youth organized in Dong Nai, Dalat Victory Chalengen 2018 Tournament. In addition to typical athletes such as Dinh Van Linh, Bui Thi Hue, Ha Cong Ky, Đinh Tuan Dat (national-level athletes of cycling sport), Dinh Thanh Hue ( marathon athlete), Bui Thi Thao (boxing athlete), Nguyen Hai Uyen (pencak silat athlete), etc., many young athletes are being trained at the provincial sports talents School and have achieved some achievements in the Youth Competitions, such as: Dinh Tuan Dat (cycling), Bui Hoang Son, Bui Thi Luyen (weightlifting), Bui Thi Viet Nhi, Bui Quang Khai (boxing), Bui Van Hieu, Bui Tuan Thanh (pencak silat), etc.

A total of 85 young players from across Hoa Binh province recently participated in the provincial Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Organised by the provincial Centre for Youth Activities, the event was part of activities to celebrate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025) and the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – 2025).
