(HBO) – Sport and physical training movements in communes across Lac Son district of Hoa Binh have grown strongly in both width and depth, becoming diverse and various in forms, contributing to enhancing the living conditions and health for locals.

Many agencies, units, schools, villages
and residential areas of the locality have formed sport clubs, teams and groups
specializing in diverse sport events, gathering many office workers, labourers,
students and locals to do regular practice. Along with traditional games such
as stick pushing, crossbow shooting, tug of war, and wrestling, modern sports
like football, volleyball, badminton and table tennis have also drawn a large
number of players.
In order to meet local’s demand, the
district has mobilised resources to upgrade, repair and build many sport grounds,
stadiums and sporting halls to serve residents’ training needs as well as to organise
sporting events and festivals as well as political events of the locality.
The sport and physical training movements
of the district have developed not only in the number of players but also the
quality of athletes as well as the success of sporting tournaments.
Many tournaments have drawn investment and
sponsorship from agencies, busineses, organisations, and individuals with large
amounts of capital. Recently, the Lac Son Association of Small- and
Medium-Sized Enterprises and some other organisations and individuals sponsored
the Football Championship of Lac Son in 2018 with nearly 100 million VND. The event
drew eight 11-member teams from five regions of the district and three teams
representing administrative-governmental agencies, security-military units and
enterprises.
So far, the number of people practising
sports regularly in the district has reached nearly 43,000, while the number of
standardized players is 10,000. The number of families involving in sport and
physical training movements has hit nearly 8,000. The district has also
operated 56 sport clubs.
In the early days of the Year of the Snake, Hoa Binh province is filled with a lively and joyful atmosphere as various sports exchange and competition activities take place. These events have become a cherished tradition among local ethnic communities, strengthening their solidarity and fostering their close bonds. They contribute to the robust development of grassroots sports movements, enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
The Hoa Binh provincial Health sector trade union organized the 1st expanded Hoa Binh provincial Health sector Pickleball tournament in 2025.
At the Hoa Binh provincial sports arena, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Hoa Binh City Sports Festival 2025 held youth and championship crossbow shooting, tug of war, and stick pushing tournaments.
Enforcement Departments of 7 Provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous Regions
On February 19th, at the Hoa Binh Province Sports Hall, the Cluster of Judicial Departments and Civil Judgment Enforcement Departments of 7 provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous regions, including Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Bac Giang and Phu Tho organized a friendly sports competition. A total of 52 athletes from the provinces in the cluster participated in the competition.
At 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16th, at Hoa Binh Provincial Stadium, Hoa Binh Football Club (Hoa Binh FC) played against Long An Football Club (Long An FC) in round 9 of the National First Division Football Tournament - Bia Sao Vang, 2024 - 2025. The dramatic match ended in a 0-0 draw when no goals were scored.
