(HBO) – Although boxing has been developing in recent years, it is considered as a potential sport and the athletes have competed and achieved medals in the national boxing competitions. However, the task of maintaining, developing and improving the rankings in regional and national competition is still difficult.

Lack of private gym, the athletes have to
practice boxing under the stage of the provincial stadium.
In 2014, the province had its first boxing
delegation competing at the Seventh National Sports Games in 2014 and the
athlete Bach Thi Linh won the bronze medal in the content of boxing at 51 kg
weight. At the eighth National Sports Games in 2018, boxing is one of three
sports chosen to participate by the province to compete with the goal of
achieving one bronze medal. To achieve this goal, the coaches and athletes have
prepared the best conditions for psychology, health and tactics, striving to
achieve the targeted goal.
Although it is a new sport and has been
practiced and competed for about six years, there have been athletes competing
and winning medals in regional and national competitions. However, the Coach
Khuat Van Tuan, a Sports Gifted High School teacher, who has been involved in
boxing since his early days, said: Even though this is the key principal sport,
it is currently difficult for the development of boxing and gathering many
excellent athletes competing in the regional and national competitions. In
fact, due to fewer enrollment targets, the number of students enrolling in
boxing at the Sports Gifted School is only 9 students. The school has no gym,
no competition stages, little exercise equipment, low nutrition, etc. The coach
Khuat Van Tuan added: To prepare to participate in the boxing competition at
the Seventh National Sports Festival in 2018, in addition to the athlete Bui
Thi Thao, the training committee called two athletes, Bach Thi Linh and Nguyen
Thi Bich to gather for training the health, tactics, and psychology to be ready
to participate in the competition. Currently, the training committee has
developed a plan and a suitable training schedule for athletes, striving to
achieve the goal.
