At a pre-match brief for the game in Yangon, Myanmar, on November 19, Park said: "We have drawn and won against Myanmar in the past but they have been good in recent games. Phuong, who scored one in each of the two previous games against Laos and Malaysia, said: "I am quite confident as I have scored two goals in the last two games and will be ready to play tomorrow. I hope I can help Vietnam to progress to the next stages of the tournament.”

Regarding the most important "weapon” in the Myanmar squad - young star Aung Thu, Phuong said: "I know him. We have faced each other many times on the pitch. Aung Thu is a good player in both ball control and finishing, but the whole team will try to keep him at bay."
On the Myanmar side, host coach Antoine Hey said: "In the first match against Cambodia, the players were relatively tired, and it was important to win the two previous games. We still have a game at home and an away match.”

After two wins against Cambodia and Laos, Myanmar currently sit atop Group A with six points, level with Vietnam in second place, but have an advantage in goal difference.
Meanwhile, Park’s side still have their last training session before the match at 6:30 pm (Vietnam time) on November 20.
