HBO - Statistics show that 35 percent of residents in Lac Son district frequently practice physical exercise, and 10,000 people have followed standard workout routines. Seventy-five sports clubs have been set up in the locality.

The physical exercise and sports movement has
spread across the district, attracting people from all social strata. Sports
clubs, teams and groups have been established with various activities
maintained. Apart from traditional sports like pole pushing, crossbow shooting,
tug of war and wrestling, others such as football, volleyball, badminton and
table tennis have also developed strongly and attracted a large number of
people.
Each year, the culture, sports and information
centre of Lac Son organises about 8 – 10 sports tourneys. It also coordinates
with agencies, sectors, organisations and schools to organise sports events on
the occasions of big anniversaries of the country as well as of various
sectors, drawing the participation of many residents.
To mark the Vietnam Sports Day (March 27), Lac
Son is planning a badminton tournament for public employees and civil servants
and an Olympic run day for public health on March 24. It targets that all
communes and townships will hold the Olympic run day with the engagement of
about 7,000 people.
The district is also calling up athletes to
prepare for the 2019 crossbow shooting and tug of war tournament of Hoa Binh
province.
In the time ahead, Lac Son will step up work to attract
social resources for building sports facilities and foster the mass movement of
physical exercise and sports. It will also pay attention to developing
competitive sports by searching and providing intensive training for talents to
help them gear up for provincial tourneys.
In the early days of the Year of the Snake, Hoa Binh province is filled with a lively and joyful atmosphere as various sports exchange and competition activities take place. These events have become a cherished tradition among local ethnic communities, strengthening their solidarity and fostering their close bonds. They contribute to the robust development of grassroots sports movements, enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

At the Hoa Binh provincial sports arena, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Hoa Binh City Sports Festival 2025 held youth and championship crossbow shooting, tug of war, and stick pushing tournaments.
Enforcement Departments of 7 Provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous Regions
On February 19th, at the Hoa Binh Province Sports Hall, the Cluster of Judicial Departments and Civil Judgment Enforcement Departments of 7 provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous regions, including Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Bac Giang and Phu Tho organized a friendly sports competition. A total of 52 athletes from the provinces in the cluster participated in the competition.
At 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16th, at Hoa Binh Provincial Stadium, Hoa Binh Football Club (Hoa Binh FC) played against Long An Football Club (Long An FC) in round 9 of the National First Division Football Tournament - Bia Sao Vang, 2024 - 2025. The dramatic match ended in a 0-0 draw when no goals were scored.
