The national target programme on building new-style rural areas has been carried out harmoniously in Cao Phong district, giving a facelift to the locality while improving the living quality of the residents.

The community-based tourism model in Mung hamlet, Hop Phong commune, has attracted throngs of tourists, contributing to local socio-economic development.

To date, eight out of nine communes have achieved 19 out of 20 criteria for new-style rural area status, including Dung Phong, Thu Phong, Nam Phong, Tay Phong, Bac Phong, Hop Phong, Binh Thanh, and Thung Nai. Thach Yen commune, currently meeting 16 criteria, is actively working toward certification in 2025 through new economic models and community-based tourism initiatives.

According to the head of the district’s agriculture and rural development Bui Van Dan, the district will urge all communes to step up the implementation of the national target program, ensuring the sustainability of the eight certified communes while supporting Thach Yen’s progress.

With the engagement of the whole political system and local people, the new-style rural area building has yielded positive results, helping improve the material and spiritual life and bolster the local socio-economy.

Cao Phong has been a powerhouse in citrus fruit plantation with 971.55 hectares for the 2024-2025 season. Particularly, orange orchards span some 715 hectares, expected to yield 20,348 tonnes. The locality’s agricultural portfolio also includes mandarins, lemons, and pomelos.
