The Department of Finance will be formed from the merger of the Department of Planning and Investment with the Department of Finance.
Other newly formed agencies will include the Department of Science and Technology (merging with the Department of Information and Communications), the Department of Construction (integrating the Department of Transport), and the Department of Agriculture and Environment (bringing together the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment).
The Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs will take over religion and belief management functions from the Department of Home Affairs.
Apart from these new formations, several existing departments will be reorganised. These include the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Industry and Trade.
The provincial People’s Committee will operate 13 specialised agencies, comprising the Office of the provincial People’s Committee, the newly established and reorganised departments, as well as the provincial Inspectorate.
The resolution was officially adopted on February 6, 2025, and took effect immediately upon approval.
