(HBO) - The organising board of the sixth sports festival at all levels of Hoa Binh province has held a ceremony to review the event and present the "for the cause of culture, sports and tourism” insignia to collectives and individuals.

The ceremony drew Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh; head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Van Toan; Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Chuong who is also head of the organisation board.

 Vuong Bich Thang, head of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Administration under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, also attended the event.

The sixth Sports Festival of Hoa Binh province took place as scheduled. All 210 communes, wards and towns hold the sports festival with the participation of 74,484 athletes. Averagely, the festival at communal level had 5 - 8 sport events. The festival at district and city level drew 11 delegations, with the competition of 700-1,720 athletes vying in 8-10 sport events.

 

 There were 14 sport events in the provincial Sports Festival with the competition of 1,846 athletes vying for 98 sets of medals. The organising board awarded 281 medals, including 94 gold, 94 silver and 93 bronze medals. A large-scale ceremony was held at the provincial stadium to kick off the festival, introducing the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Hoa Binh province.

On this occasion, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the "for the cause of culture, sports and tourism” insignia to 20 individuals who made contributions to the development of the culture, sports and tourism. The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 28 collectives and 13 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the process of organising the festival at all levels.

The organising board also conferred the first, second and third flags to delegations with outstanding achievements in competition at the sixth Hoa Binh Sports Festival (Hoa Binh city, Yen Thuy district and Lac Thuy district). Eleven other flags were also presented to other units contributing to the successful organisation of the event.

 At the same time, 50 certificates of merit of the organising board were also presented to collectives and individuals who had excellent achievements in organising work and competition at the festival.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and head of the organising board, held that the sixth sports festival of the province was a success, seeking athletes to compete in the national sport festival 2018./.
