HBO – Hoa Binh province’s Department of Information and Communication has coordinated with the Yen Thuy district People’s Committee in organising an exhibition titled "Vietnam’s Hoang Sa, Truong Sa – Historical and legal evidence” in Yen Tri commune.
Attending the event were leaders of the district People’s
Committee, the provincial Department of Information and Communication, Hoa Binh
Newspaper, the provincial Military High Command, representatives of the
provincial Police Office, departments and offices, together with youths and
students in the district.
The exhibition displays numerous documents, objects and
publications, and 171 maps collected by domestic and foreign researchers and
scholars, including copies of Han-Nom documents, Vietnamese- and
French-language documents published by the Vietnamese feudal states and the French administration in Indochina
from the 17th to 20th century, copies of administrative documents issued
between 1954 and 1975 under the South Vietnam Government, and several photos
and documents showing the attachment between Hoa Binh officials and people and
Truong Sa.

Maps and documents exhibited are part of historical and legal
evidence proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa
archipelagoes. They show that Vietnam’s states from the feudal to socialist
period have discovered, practiced and protected the national sovereignty over
the two archipelagoes and other sea and islands in the Vietnamese territory.
Together with exhibiting maps and objects, the organising board
also held talks about the sea and island sovereignty with stories told by
experienced soldiers who directly participate in protecting the sovereignty.
The exhibition is scheduled to remain open to visitors until April
27./.
