(HBO) - Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, The Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee had a meeting to inspect the work of natural disaster prevention and searching for rescue in Da Bac district.

From the early of 2018 until now, in the district, there have been many storms of heavy storms with thunders, lightning and heavy wind. The amount of damage is estimated to be about 2.4 billion VND. Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the People's Committee of Da Bac district timely prompted the localities to carry out the remedial work under the motto "4 things at the spot", which gathered all the resources to overcome the damage, help the local people stabilize production, ensure the safety in the flood season.

In order to actively participate in disaster prevention and searching victims for rescue in the district, the Commune Management Committee for Disaster Prevention and Searching Victim for Rescue has advised the District People's Committee to issue documents on active prevention and protection of storms and tsunamis and heavy flood, strengthening the implementation of drought prevention and protection, etc.

The preparation of materials, facilities and funds for disaster prevention of the district is ensured. The population is allocated stably in the integrated form of 383 households; 376 households has been moved, 04 households in Dong Ruong commune and  02 households in Tien Phong commune moved to the South; 01 household in Tu Ly commune did not move due to basic overhaul in the place.

Da Bac is currently carrying out repairs as well as completing procedures to maintain, upgrade and invest in damaged works caused by natural disasters, including the construction site of Thang Lake repairing works (Tu Ly); the Repairing Work of the road from Nhap Ngoai to Ha village (Dong Chum); repairing work of the road from Na Loc village to Co Phung village (Dong Chum); repairing the road from Co Phung village to Nhap Ngoai village (Dong Chum); Repairing roads from Yen Hoa commune to Dong Ruong commune; Repairing and upgrading Chau me Lake (Tu Ly).

Speaking to summarize the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee asked the People's Committee of Da Bac district to focus on improving the capacity of the leadership and strengthening the material facilities and equipment for the Committee for Disaster Prevention and Searching Victim for Rescue of the communes, towns to ensure their readiness in time with possible natural disasters. They also need to review and identify key areas under the guideline "4 things at-the-spot", to classify and assess the safety of reservoirs in the district.  Setting plans for ensuring the safety of each areas and sites needs to be taken into consideration.
