(HBO) – A delegation of the Ministry of Transport led by Minister Nguyen Van The, member of the Party Central Committee, has had a working session with leaders of Hoa Binh province.
Those present at the working session included Standing Deputy
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial
People’s Council Tran Dang Ninh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party
Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang,
and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh.

Hoa Binh asked the Ministry of Transport and the
minister to allocate capital for upgrading Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh Road into an
expressway and building Hoa Binh 4 Bridge. They also called on the ministry to
promote the construction of Hoa Binh-Son La Expressway under the public-private
partnership format, National Highway 15 linking Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa
provinces, and National Highway 12B; the upgrade of National Highway 70B’s
section traversing Hoa Binh, Road 12B, and National Highway 21; and the
building of emergency lanes on Thung Khe, Thung Nhuoi and Cun slopes on
National Highway 6.
Tran Dang Ninh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the
provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council,
asked the minister to support to the construction of National Highway 12B that
will connect Hoa Binh with Ninh Binh province and National Highway 1, while
working out measures to improve the capacity of the waterway route running
through Hai Phong city, Hanoi and Hoa Binh, and to protect infrastructure of
local roads.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the provincial People’s
Committee Nguyen Van Quang asked the minister to assist residents in the
vicinity of Hoa Binh Lake to register their waterway vehicles. He also called
for more support for his province to implement some key projects expected to
create growth momentum like Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh Road, ensure traffic safety, and
build Hoa Binh 4 Bridge to boost the development of Hoa Binh city.
At the working session, Minister Nguyen Van The
asked local authorities to work closely with the Ministry of Transport to work
out solutions to difficulties and develop synchronous traffic infrastructure so
as to create a driving force for development.
Regarding Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh Road, he asked
relevant agencies of his ministry to coordinate with the province to survey
approach roads and strictly manage markers and the construction situation so as
to upgrade the road into an expressway in the future. He also told local
authorities to work with his ministry to devise solutions to problems relating
to roads linking Hoa Binh with other provinces like Hoa Binh-Moc Chau (Son La
province) Expressway and National Highway 15 linking Hoa Binh with Thanh Hoa
province.
Meanwhile, the province needs to review and
specify the priority levels of national highways running through it so that
authorised agencies can have an investment roadmap. In terms of obstacles to
the Road 12B project, the ministry and the province should work together to ask
for the Government’s provision of capital to compensate residents for their
displacement and pay building contractors, Minister The added./.

The northern province of Hoa Binh, with over 467,000 hectares of natural forest and more than 100,000 hectares of production forest, holds significant potential for carbon credit market development.
Replacing substandard houses with more sturdy ones by June 30 is the direction given by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, at a meeting held in early March by the provincial Steering Committee for the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the needy.
