account for over 22 percent of the population. They form a strong force playing
a great role in national construction and defence. Therefore, their

reproductive health strategy for the 2011-2020 period. The Health Ministry
worked closely with agencies to hold activities caring for reproductive health
of adolescents and youths which remains limited now.
According to the Maternal and Child Health Department, abortion in Vietnam
remains high with 250,000 – 300,000 cases each year. Of 1,000 cases, 15 are in

cases in women aged 15-49. In order to respond to the National Action Month on
Population and Vietnam Population Day, the ministry wished that departments and
agencies would encourage walks of life to respond to the theme "Caring for
reproductive health of adolescents, youths for future generations”, thereby
ensuring that adolescents and youths receive comprehensive care and fully
