(HBO) – The National Assembly Standing Committee’s Commission for People’s Aspirations held an annual conference in the northern city of Hoa Binh on August 21-22 to review its work in the north this year.
Nguyen Thanh Hai, member
of the Party Central Committee and NA Standing Committee and head of the
commission, chaired the event, which was attended by Vice Secretary of the
provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran
Dang Ninh and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang.
Participants heard 18
topics and discussed the implementation of the resolutions on lawmakers’ meeting
with constituents; reception for citizens by the NA agencies, lawmakers, and deputies
to the People’s Councils at all levels; reception, classification and
settlement of complaints and denunciations.

citizens, meeting voters and collecting their opinions, monitoring the
settlement of complaints and denunciations in localities, and applying
technological advances in collecting public opinions, among others.

Speaking at the event,
Nguyen Thanh Hai, member of the Party Central Committee and NA Standing
Committee, head of the Commission for People’s Aspirations, underscored the
importance of the collection of people’s aspirations to people-elected bodies,
serving as a bridge between the NA, legislators, People’s Councils and their
deputies, and constituents. Over the past years, the NA’s activities to grasp
people’s aspirations have improved with encouraging results. However, there
remain shortcomings and flaws.
Opinions raised at the
event will be acquired for reference to the review and amendment of legal
documents, towards further improving the quality and efficiency of the work.

These improvements have helped create favourable conditions for local residents and organisations to handle administrative procedures, contributing to the commune’s broader socio-economic development.
The Prime Minister-approved master plan to develop the multi-use value of forests ecosystems through 2030, with a vision to 2050, aims to improve the management and sustainable use of forest resources, create jobs, increase incomes, and improve the living standards of ethnic minorities, people in mountainous and remote areas, forest workers and those living near forests.
