HBO – Hoa Binh province’s Taxation Department on January 3 held a conference to review taxation work and set forth tasks and measures for 2019. Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh, leaders of the General Department of Taxation, and representatives from local departments and sectors.
According
to a report, as of December 31, 2018, the province’s total State budget
collection was 3.24 trillion VND, of which 2.79 trillion VND was collected from
taxes and fees, and nearly 500 billion VND from land use.
At
the conference, delegates assessed factors affecting State budget collection
related to socio-economic affairs as well as mechanisms and policies. The local
socio-economic situation remained stable in 2018, with economic growth
estimated at 8.36 percent. Industrial and handicraft production, trade and
services all experienced growth. Investment promotion received special
attention. To date, Hoa Binh attracted 544 projects, including 37 FDI ones
worth over 500 million USD and 507 domestic-invested ones totaling 64.8
trillion VND.
At
the event, with their outstanding achievements in financial work in recent
years, 65 collectives and individuals of the local taxation sector were
honoured with certificates of merits, insignias and emulation fighter title by
the Finance Ministry and the provincial People’s Committee. Notably, one
individual received the State President’s Labour Order, third class.

The
provincial People’s Council assigned the taxation to collect 3.68 trillion VND
for the State budget in 2019, up 13.5 percent year-on-year./.
The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee met on March 18 to review and guide major investment projects aimed at boosting local socio-economic development.

The northern province of Hoa Binh, with over 467,000 hectares of natural forest and more than 100,000 hectares of production forest, holds significant potential for carbon credit market development.
Replacing substandard houses with more sturdy ones by June 30 is the direction given by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, at a meeting held in early March by the provincial Steering Committee for the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the needy.
