(HBO) – A high-level delegation from Laos’s northern province of Luang Prabang led by Governor Khamkhan Chanthavisouk, member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee has paid a working visit to Vietnam’s northern province of Hoa Binh.


Bui Van Tinh, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; along with Tran Dang Ninh, Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; and Hoang Thanh Mich, President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee.

At the receptions, Tinh expressed his pleasure to host the Luang Prabang high-level delegation while introducing the local political, economic, social and cultural accomplishments in 2016 and in the first eight months of 2017.

On behalf of local authorities, he congratulated Luang Prabang on its remarkable achievements over the past time. He said the expansion of cooperative ties with the province is of importance. Promoting the traditional relations and special friendship between Vietnamand Laos, Hoa Binh will enhance comprehensive cooperation with Luang Prabang and other Lao localities. The province will continue stepping up exchange activities and coordinating with the Lao side to support the two countries’ departments and trade unions, through which reinforcing the close relations and special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Amid the atmosphere of friendship and solidarity, Khamkhan Chanthavisouk thanked the Hoa Binh Party Committee, authority, people and ethnic groups for receiving the Lao delegation. He highly valued the local strong developments in recent years and hoped the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnamand Laosas well as between Hoa Binh and Luang Prabang will continue to grow. The official also expressed his hope that the two provinces will step up cooperation in the fields of economy, especially in agriculture, trade and tourism while supporting training lecturers and medical workers for the education and healthcare sectors. He suggested increasing cultural exchanges and actively sharing information and historical documentaries.

Within the framework of the visit, the Lao delegation visited the historical stele relic site where the preparatory congress and the second congress of the LPRP took place in Cham Mat ward (Hoa Binh city) and wrote in the commemorative book of the provincial Military High Command./.
