(HBO) - On February 19, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee held a meeting with representatives of local press agencies, artists and journalists; and presented the third Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards 2018. Attending the event were member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh and permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Dang Ninh.

In 2018, local press agencies properly performed their functions and duties, complied with principles, purposes and the Press Law, fulfilled political tasks and closely followed local orientations. They provided timely, truthful and comprehensive information about political, socio-economic, national defence –security tasks of the country and the locality. They served as a truly reliable forum of the people and a crucial mass media for social life, thus making important contributions to successfully performing political and socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defence-security, and serving external affairs of the local Party committee, authorities and members of ethnic groups.

 Cultural and arts activities were more diverse, contributing to serving political tasks. A number of achievements were made in regional exhibitions and festivals in almost fields. Composition camps offered real-life experience to members and vividly reflected local lives. Several members made their names at domestic cultural-art forums. The Hoa Binh arts newspaper upheld its role of discovering young talents, serving as a forum for artists and contributing to promoting the development of culture-arts in the new period.

 On the occasion, the organising board of the third Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards 2018 presented awards to winning authors and entries.

 At the event, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh lauded the great contributions of press agencies, journalists and artists to performing local political tasks. He affirmed that the local Party units, authorities and people always expect the role and position of press and culture-arts agencies in reform, national construction and defence. In particular, many entries with high value in ideology and arts vividly and fully reflected the performance of the tasks of building the Party and political system, boosting socio-economic development, ensuring national defence-security and promoting external relations during renovation and development process./.
