Member of the Party Central Committee and MARD Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong speaks at the working session with officials of Hoa Binh province.

At the event, Hoa Binh authorities proposed the Government prioritise resources for the implementation of policies that encourage investment in agriculture and rural areas, especially agricultural projects applying high and biological technology which are in line with the Government’s Decree No. 57/2018/ND-CP. It also called for more resources for realising the Government’s Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP on policies encouraging cooperation in agricultural production and farm produce consumption, particularly connections to form concentrated production areas associated with processing and exporting activities.

Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, asked the MARD to shift part of pig and chicken farming, which has faced difficulties due to diseases, to cattle farming.

The ministry should also issue policies supporting businesses in animal breeding, create more favourable conditions for export, reduce the practice of free ranging to prevent the spread of disease, and facilitate hi-tech production.

He also asked the MARD to help Hoa Binh build some wood processing factories since the province has huge forest-related potential, and processing plants will open up new directions for local forestry production.

Addressing the session, Minister Cuong said since Hoa Binh completed key infrastructure facilities and was included in the Hanoi capital city’s region, it has brought into play its advantages, helping with agricultural restructuring. Notably, the province has developed large concentrated fruit farming areas, supplying products for the northern region as well as the whole country.

Regarding cattle farming, the minister spoke highly of the successes of the T&T 159 JSC, and told Hoa Binh to swiftly restructure animal farming by focusing on cattle.

As part of their working trip, the delegation visited the cattle farm of the T&T 159 JSC in Yen Mong commune of Hoa Binh city./.
