(HBO) - A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and Thai Binh province had a working session with officials of Hoa Binh province on May 26. The delegation included member of the Party Central Committee and MARD Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong.

At the event, Hoa Binh authorities proposed the
Government prioritise resources for the implementation of policies that
encourage investment in agriculture and rural areas, especially agricultural
projects applying high and biological technology which are in line with the
Government’s Decree No. 57/2018/ND-CP. It also called for more resources for
realising the Government’s Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP on policies encouraging
cooperation in agricultural production and farm produce consumption,
particularly connections to form concentrated production areas associated with
processing and exporting activities.
Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central
Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, asked the
MARD to shift part of pig and chicken farming, which has faced difficulties due
to diseases, to cattle farming.
The ministry should also issue policies
supporting businesses in animal breeding, create more favourable conditions for
export, reduce the practice of free ranging to prevent the spread of disease,
and facilitate hi-tech production.
He also asked the MARD to help Hoa Binh build
some wood processing factories since the province has huge forest-related
potential, and processing plants will open up new directions for local forestry
production.
Addressing the session, Minister Cuong said
since Hoa Binh completed key infrastructure facilities and was included in the Hanoi capital city’s
region, it has brought into play its advantages, helping with agricultural
restructuring. Notably, the province has developed large concentrated fruit
farming areas, supplying products for the northern region as well as the whole
country.
Regarding cattle farming, the minister spoke
highly of the successes of the T&T 159 JSC, and told Hoa Binh to swiftly
restructure animal farming by focusing on cattle.
