(HBO) - On June 28, the People's Committee of the province issued the Decision No. 1349/QD-UBND approving the scheme of teaching and learning the language of Muong ethnic people in the period of 2018 – 2025 with a vision to 2035 in the province.
The overall goal of the project is to teach and learn, to
foster the language and writing of Muong ethnic people for the officials and
all people in the province, contributing to preserving and promoting the
cultural identity of Muong ethnic people in the province. It is necessary to
bring Muong writing into a fundamental and sustainable factor in educating
ethics and national self-esteem through the cultural values for the young
generation. It helps contribute to the diversity of the ethnic culture, at the
same time, significantly contributing to the career of building an advanced
culture imbued with national identity of Vietnam.
The specific objectives are as followed: By 2021, 5% of the
civil servants and officials will have completed the learning program of Muong
language; By 2022, 100% of school students and students in the province will
have learnt the language of Muong ethnic people. By 2025, over 20% the civil
servants and officials will have completed the learning program of Muong
language. By 2035, 100% of the civil servants and officials of Muong ethnic
people will have fluently used Muong language
Specifically, from 2018 to 2020, acquiring the direction of
the Provincial People's Committee on implementing and organizing the scheme
construction; setting up a contingent of experts and core lecturers teaching
the language of Muong ethnic people; organizing the field surveys at 4 Muong:
Bi - Vang - Thang - Dong; developing curriculum materials; training the
teaching staff of Muong language for the provincial schools (about 500
teachers).
From 2021 to 2025: They will implement the pilot teaching and
learning in boarding schools for ethnic minority students, some high schools,
one Center for Continuing and Vocational Education, Vocational Colleges and
Schools and Hoa Binh Teacher Training College. The pilot teaching for the
officials and the employees (one class) is expected. The phase 1 for the
officials and employees (25% the officials in the province, about 4,000
participants) will be the deployed. From 2026 to 2035 the mass training for
students of colleges and intermediate schools, students of high schools,
students of the centers for continuing and vocational education, the officials
and employees in need in the province and the neighboring localities if
necessary.
To implement, the Scheme has set out 5 tasks and 4 groups of
the specific solutions. They include the institution and implementation
mechanism, building a contingent of lecturers and teachers teaching the
language of Muong ethnic people; developing curriculum materials, documents and
textbooks and building the infrastructure. The total cost of the project is
expected to be over 60 billion VND.
