(HBO) – The Labour Confederation of Hoa Binh province held the fourth meeting of its 16th-tenure executive committee, which also reviewed trade union activities in the first half of 2019 and launched tasks for the rest of the year.

According to a report at the event, in the first
six months, all-level trade unions in Hoa Binh admitted 2,251 new members and
established 16 grassroots units, equivalent to 51.2 percent of the target set
for the province by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL).
They promoted the Party and administration
building and nominated 937 outstanding trade union members for admission to the
Party, with 589 becoming Party members.
The provincial confederation also directed
district-level units to organise eight programmes celebrating the 2019 Lunar
New Year (Tet) festival, gathering 1,590 trade union members. They also
mobilised over 270 million VND donated by 13 organisations and businesses and
spent nearly 1 billion VND on Tet support for local labourers.
During the reviewed period, trade unions in Hoa
Binh assisted the building and repair of six houses for disadvantaged labourers
with the total cost of 175 million VND. They also donated 150 tonnes of cement
for the construction of transport facilities in Kim Tien and Nat Son communes
of Kim Boi district.
Blood donation activities were also been
organised for local workers, collecting 474 blood units, equivalent to 158
percent of the set target.
For the last six months of this year, trade
unions at all levels in Hoa Binh are set to press on with disseminating the
resolutions of the 12th VGCL congress and the 16th provincial trade union
congress. They will encourage local trade union members and workers to join
efforts to meet the targets set for the year.
Emulation movements will also be stepped up so
as to obtain achievements in celebration of the VGCL’s 90th founding
anniversary and all-level Party congresses for the 2020-2025 tenure.

These improvements have helped create favourable conditions for local residents and organisations to handle administrative procedures, contributing to the commune’s broader socio-economic development.
The Prime Minister-approved master plan to develop the multi-use value of forests ecosystems through 2030, with a vision to 2050, aims to improve the management and sustainable use of forest resources, create jobs, increase incomes, and improve the living standards of ethnic minorities, people in mountainous and remote areas, forest workers and those living near forests.
