(HBO) – Hoa Binh province has almost completed site clearance work for construction of the expanded Hoa Binh hydropower plant.
The surface and drainage system of Le Dai Hanh
road has been completed, facilitating the transport of equipment and waste
during the construction process.
More than 643,000 square metres of land are needed for the plant’s expansion,
which means compensation and resettlement work must be carried out for over 152
households and ten organisations.
In a bid to accelerate the pace of the project in line with schedule, competent
authorities have worked together to remove bottlenecks for site clearance work.
The Hoa Binh hydropower plant expansion project is invested by Vietnam
Electricity (EVN) at total capital of over 9.22 trillion VND (339.38 million
USD). It will include two turbines with total capacity of 480 MW, and
electricity output of about 488.3 million kWh per year.
Construction is planned to begin in January next year, and completed in
December 12, 2024./.

Replacing substandard houses with more sturdy ones by June 30 is the direction given by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, at a meeting held in early March by the provincial Steering Committee for the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the needy.
