(HBO) - Lac Thuy district has mobilised and effectively used over 313.29 billion VND (13.5 million USD) for the agricultural and rural development sector in the 2016-2020 period.

The sum is 2.9 percent higher than the number set by the Lac Thuy People’s Committee’s Resolution 03/2016/NQ-HDND dated June 30, 2016 to approve an agricultural restructuring project for better value added and sustainability during 2016 – 2025.

To date, Lac Thuy has its collective trademark recognised and earned trademark registration certificates for four outstanding farming products – orange, chicken, goat, and sugar apple.

The fund was utilised to carry out activities in six prioritised areas, consisting of cultivation, husbandry, fishery, forestry, processing industry, and new-style rural development.

By the end of 2020, the district surpassed a series of goals set for the year, with the annual growth rate of cultivation production value recording an excess of 1.4 percent to reach 8.5 percent. The total area of citrus fruit was estimated at 1,318ha, surpassing the target by 55.1 percent. Meanwhile, Lac Thuy fulfilled all new-style rural criteria and had all of its eight communes meeting the standard./.
