(HBO) - Luong Son district, which is located to the northeast of the capital city of Hanoi, has attracted an array of domestic and foreign investors in the fields of tourism and clean agriculture. The locality is promoting integration to branch out its economy, build a modern urban area, and turn itself into a safe and alluring destination for tourists.

Phoenix Golf Resort in Lam Son commune Luong Son district has been an ideal weekend retreat for Hanoians.

Boasting huge potential for agricultural development, the district has spared no efforts to increase added value to its agricultural products, as well as expand high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture.

Local products like organic vegetables, Luong Son goat and Viba banana have won the taste of many consumers.

In the end of 2014, a collective brand was granted to Luong Son’s Lac lay loofa and organic vegetables, helping local organic vegetable receive many valuable titles such as "Gold Brand of Vietnam’s Agriculture in 2016”, and a gold cup for "organic agriculture brand for public health”. It was honoured as a standout agricultural product for three years.

Currently, the district has found markets for products of 22 farming groups with 144 members.

Along with organic vegetables, there are many others products that have received warm welcome of the consumers, including chicken of Thuan Phat agriculture and service cooperative, pomelo of Tan Thanh agriculture cooperative, and banana of Viba banana cooperative, goat meat of Hoa Binh agriculture cooperative, duck eggs of Hung Tien agricultural service cooperative, pear guava and pomelo of My Tan agricultural service cooperative.

Director of Viba banana cooperative Tran Trung Duc said that in the days before the traditional Lunar New Year, demand for Viba banana was high, adding his cooperative had seen multi-fold increases in the number of orders from Vinmart and BigC.

Bestowed with beautiful landscape and weather, coupled with the rich culture of the Muong ethnic group, Luong Son is an attractive destination for visitors from Hanoi.

According to deputy head of the district’s culture-information bureau, Sunset resort, Beverlly resort, Dong Goi Eco Farm, Phoenix Golf Resort, and Da Bac cave are the top local tourist attractions.

Dong Goi Eco Farm, covering an area of 3.6 hectares, has particularly impressed the visitors with its tranquil beauty and fresh air all year round. Two thirds of the farm acreage are used for organic farming while four villas with 20 high-end rooms were constructed in the remaining areas.

Nguyen Hong Hue from Hanoi’s Cau Giay district said that she felt relaxed at the eco farm, and her children had the opportunities to gain farming experience such as tree caring, fishing and making several dishes from organic farm product.

At night, visitors can enjoy Muong ethnic dancing and singing, drink ruou can (wine stored in a big jar and drunk with long bamboo straws), and taste several local staples, she said.

Last year, the district People’s Committee worked to enhance COVID-19 prevention and control at local tourist spots and lodging facilities, launched some stimulus programmes such as "Vietnamese people prioritise Vietnamese tourism”, and "Luong Son tourism- an attractive weekend retreat”. Besides, it paid due attention to communication work at local events.

Thanks to unceasing efforts of the local authorities, the district has proved it is a safe and attractive destination. Last year, it welcomed some 161,100 tourists, including 83,149 foreigners, and gained over 337 billion VND (14.71 million USD) from tourism revenue./.
