(HBO) – Hoang Van Thu High School for Gifted Students in Hoa Binh province has hosted a ceremony to celebrate its 70th founding anniversary (1947 – 2017). The event was attended by member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Cuu, and generations of staff members, teachers and students of the school.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Cuu handed over the Ministry of Education and Training’s certificates of merit to 11 employees, teachers and three students who performed excellently in teaching, learning and the educational creativity emulation movement in the 2016-2017 academic year.

With its long-standing tradition, the Hoang Van Thu High School for Gifted Students is a high-quality educational establishment of Hoa Binh province, providing comprehensive education and training of talented students. Generations of staff members, teachers and students of the school have overcome difficulties and been creative and flexible in teaching and learning activities. Its efforts have been honoured with Labour Orders (third, second, and first classes), the title of "Hero in the Reform Period”, and many certificates of merit by the Party, the State, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the provincial People’s Committee.

At present, the school has 129 employees and teachers, including one holding doctor’s degrees and 52 others holding master’s degrees. It ranks 22nd among 67 educational establishments nationwide in training gifted students. The school has recorded at least 95 percent of its students in high-quality classes passing university exams for many years. In the 2017 national high school exam, all students of the 2014-2017 course entered universities in Vietnam while two received scholarships to study in France and over 20 others were granted with scholarships by Russian universities.

Addressing the celebration, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh applauded the Hoang Van Thu school’s excellent attainments over the last seven decades. He asked the school to uphold its solidarity spirit and improve teaching and learning, thus deserving the trust of local authorities and people.

 


On this occasion, the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee presented a flag marking the 70th founding anniversary to the school. Eleven staff members and teachers, and three students were honoured by the Ministry of Education and Training with certificates of merit for their achievements. The provincial People’s Committee also granted certificates of merit to three students with outstanding performance at the e-ICON World Contest in the Republic of Korea./.
