(HBO) – Implementing a project on developing population and electronic identification (eID) serving the national digital transformation for 2022-2025 with a vision to 2030 (Project 06/CP), the Division of Public Security in Tan Lac district of Hoa Binh province has drastically and simultaneously launched various measures to speed up the issuance and activation of VNeID accounts.

Public security officers in Quyet Chien commune, Tan Lac district, guide local people in filling out declaration for the issuance of ID cards.

So far, the district has completed the issuance of ID cards for 72,847 out of 72,996 local citizens aged from 14 years old, or a rate of 99.8%. Notably, Quyet Chien commune has completed the issuance of chip-based ID cards for 100% of eligible citizens.

The issuance of level 1 and level 2 VNeID accounts, however, still faces a series of difficulties, including errors in the system and citizen phones; restricted human resources with IT qualifications; and infrastructure, facilities and equipment not meeting the requirements in the implementation of the project's tasks, among others.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Phan Ngoc Tu, Deputy Chief of the Tan Lac Division of Public Security, said to speed up the implementation progress of Project 06/CP, the agency is intensifying related communications campaigns to raise public awareness and consensus.

Tight coordination with public security units of local communes and towns will be continued to complete the issuance of identification cards and VNeID accounts for all people living in the district in May, he stressed./.
