(HBO) – A delegation of the northern province of Hoa Binh led by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long had a working session with the Bangkok city administration on July 17 as part of its investment, trade and tourism promotion programme in Thailand. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, hosted a reception for the delegation. Phan Chi Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand also joined the event.

Long said he believed that the meeting will open up opportunities for
cooperation between the two sides in areas of mutual interest toward sustainable
development.
The province leader said that this is the first time Hoa Binh has organised an
investment, trade and tourism promotion programme in Thailand. It aims to
actively contribute to promoting the good cooperation between the two
countries as well asintroduce the strengths of Hoa Binh province to
leaders of Bangkok city as well as businesses, investors and people in
Thailand.
Leaders of Hoa Binh province and Bangkok city exchanged views in the spirit of
frankness and openness and wished to promote cooperation opportunities for
mutual development in the coming time.
Longhighlighted his province's socio-economic development,
affirming its potential as well as desire for collaboration in some areas of
mutual interest.
In the coming time, the province will focus on attracting
investment to various fields, including modern and high-quality industrial
production; production and processing of agricultural, forestry and aquatic
products; resort tourism development; and urban development associated with
ecology systems, while tapping its advantage as a satellite urban area of Hanoi
capital,he said.
At the working session, the two sides agreed on the content of cooperation. The
Governor of Bangkok suggested establishing a working group to connect
investment, trade and tourism promotion activities between his locality and Hoa
Binh province.
Agreeing with his proposal, Long assigned the Hoa Binh Centre for Investment,
Trade and Tourism Promotion to take prime responsiblity for carrying out tasks
related to the cooperation plan between the two localities in the coming time.
