(HBO) – "Promoting the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, worthy of being the center and core in the farmer’s movement of building the new countryside” - this is the direction adopted by the Farmers' Union in Lac Thuy district determined that it should continue to be promoted in the 2023-2028 term, contributing to further impetus for the development of the homeland.
The people in Ba Hang Doi town (Lac Thuy) are excited because the rural appearance and farmers' life are getting better and better.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Dat, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lac Thuy district says: In the whole district, there are over 11,000 members, reaching 103.6 percent compared to the agricultural households. In the past 5 years, the Union’s work and the district's farmers' movement have achieved important results. People's Unions at all levels have mobilized the officers and the members to well implement the guidelines and policies of the Party, the policies and the laws of the State, making the farmers be the force with a central and pivotal role in the construction of new rural areas.
The consensus and active participation in the construction of new rural areas of the members and the farmers is vividly demonstrated through the numbers when voluntarily contributing money, working days, donating land for the construction of the work for the rural infrastructure, the construction model of the residential areas, the model garden... Specifically, in 5 years (2018 - 2023) the farmer households in the district have donated over 26,940 m2 of land for the construction of roads; participating in renewing 32.5 km of the rural roads; clearing the sewers and clearing the visibility on both sides of the road is over 370 km; digging and backfilling more than 875 m3 of soil and rock; dredging 370 km of infield canals; mobilizeing 49,265 working days to clean village roads and alleys, building roads in the fields... the total contribution was about 950 million VND. In addition, the farmers have joined hands to build 9 community works, 78 models of rural environmental protection; implementing 75 models of skillful people in mobilizing, 32 models of farmers' tree lines; building 15 models of the residential areas, 40 model gardens; establishing 129 self-governing models in the communes and the town...
"The imprint of the farmers is prominently displayed in the picture of infrastructure development, making an important contribution to the improvement of the rural areas in Lac Thuy rural areas. And more importantly, it is the internal strength of the farmers when they enthusiastically emulate in production, uniting to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably that has created a qualitative change in the construction of new rural areas ... ", the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lac Thuy district emphasizes.
By the end of 2022, the district's per capita income reached 72.4 million VND; the rate of the poor households was 10%, of which the rate of the poor farmer members was 7.1%. The material and spiritual life of the farmers is constantly being improved, which is a great resource for Lac Thuy to continue trying to complete the goals of building the new rural area.
It is known that, after being recognized as a new rural area in 2020 (one year earlier than planned), Lac Thuy district continues the journey of building an enhanced rural area. On the new journey, there is always the synchronous participation of the whole political system and people's classes. In particular, it is indispensable the pivotal role of the farmers - a large force that has made many outstanding contributions to the results of the construction of the new rural areas over the years and it will certainly continue to create more motivation for the district to strongly develop in the new period.
