(HBO) – Accompanying people of Hoa Binh province for generations, the Da River has helped not only generate power for the national grid and attract visitors thanks to its historical values and majestic landscapes, but also produce quality fishery products that meet standards of the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) programme and are imbued with local quintessence and producers’ devotion.

Fish cages of Cuong Thinh Fish are disinfected with sprayer or slaked lime to ensure a clean environment for fish to grow.

The Cuong Thinh Construction and Services Co. Ltd has taken the lead in fish cage farming following the VietGAP standard in Hoa Binh province. Since March 2013, it has invested in the fisheries sector under the brand of Cuong Thinh Fish. From the initial 20 cages, it now has about 250 cages meeting the VietGAP standard, raising specialty species with high economic value such as "lang” (bagridae), "dam xanh” (bangana lemassoni), "tram den” (black carp), tilapia, read tilapia, and carp.

Among its products, two high-quality ones were granted the four-star OCOP product certificates by the provincial People’s Committee in 2019, namely the Da River black carp fillet and the Da River tilapia fillet, which account for about 30% of the firm’s output.

Pham Van Thinh, Director of the Cuong Thinh Co. Ltd, said to gradually turn Cuong Thinh Fish into the No. 1 brand in freshwater fishing farming in Vietnam, since the very first days, the company has raised fish in line with such quality standards as TCVN and VietGAP to supply clean and delicious fish products having prominent quality and meeting food safety requirements.

Besides, Cuong Thinh Fish has also cooperated with local cooperatives and households in each step of farming, from providing fish fry and food to giving farming guidance and especially sale, thereby helping create livelihoods and increase income for farmers in the vicinity of the reservoir, he noted.

To develop the Da River fish into an export commodity comparable with tra and basa fish as soon as possible and elevate the brand to a new height, Cuong Thinh Fish signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2019 to distribute its OCOP products via OCOP showrooms. The MoU signing was considered a stride of the company in turning the Da River fish into the No. 1 brand in Vietnam, conquering the domestic and foreign markets, and supplying fresh, clean and quality products for consumers.
