Over the past time, the Party Committee and authorities of Luong Son have concertedly taken breakthrough solutions to boost comprehensive and sustainable development in the district, upholding its role as an economic driving force of Hoa Binh province. The locality strives to meet the basic criteria set for a township-level administrative unit by 2025.

Vice Chairman of the district People's Committee Nguyen Anh Duc said Party
Committees, authorities, Fatherland Front committees and organisations from the
district to the grassroots levels have seriously materialised relevant action
programmes, plans and projects, helping raise the awareness of officials and
Party members about viewpoints, targets, tasks and breakthrough solutions to
satisfy such township-level urban standards.
Luong Son district has so far completed criteria on population size, natural
area, the number of commune-level administrative units, as well as those on
socio-economic structure and development level. It is also striving to meet the three criteria of meeting urban standards of
Class 4 throughout the district, establishing at least six wards, and
increasing the rate of non-agricultural labourers in urban areas to 75%. Besides, it aims to turn six communes into ward-level administrative units,
comprising Luong Son town, and Nhuan Trach, Cu Yen, Tan Vinh, Lam Son, and Hoa
Son communes.
According to the plan, Luong Son district will complete the building of a
project to win the status of Class 4 urban area by 2024, and a project to
establish Luong Son township and six wards by 2025, which will be submitted to
the Government and the National Assembly Standing Committee for approval.
The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee met on March 18 to review and guide major investment projects aimed at boosting local socio-economic development.
