A project to build a road from Da Bac town (Da Bac) to Thanh Son district of Phu Tho province is invested by the People's Committee of Da Bac district with a total capital of 250 billion VND (9.8 million USD). When completed, it will be a vital traffic route connecting the two provinces, contributing to the development of the road traffic infrastructure system in Da Bac district, and adding motivation to promote local socio-economic development.

Construction is accelerated on road linking Luong Son to Kim Boi. Once completed, it promises to open up new development opportunities.

Da Bac mountainous district currently has 89.72% of its population being ethnic minorities. For many years, traffic difficulties have been a "bottleneck" hindering the development of the district as well as people's lives. Therefore, the top priority when implementing investment policies is to focus resources on essential infrastructure, with a focus on road transport infrastructure. This is also a focus in the implementation of the national target programme for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Da Bac district.

In the provincial scale, in recent years, Hoa Binh has been concentrating resources to prioritise systematic development of transportation infrastructure, especially regional transport and key transport projects to create socio-economic development breakthroughs. Localities have prioritised investment resources to develop road traffic infrastructure, considering this as one of the strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure development in particular and socio-economic development in general.

According to the provincial Department of Transport, currently, Hoa Binh has about 10,990 km of roads. The province has increased the rate of asphalt and concrete commune roads and roads from the commune centre to 88%, exceeding the plan set for 2025. The rate of asphalt and concrete village and inter-village roads reaches 71.6%, alleys 60.53%, and intra-field roads 18.8%.

In efforts to invest in developing transport infrastructure in a concerted and effective manner to meet the requirements of sustainable development, the province has also prioritised investment resources for ethnic minority and mountainous areas. As a province with a high proportion of ethnic minorities (74% of the population), Hoa Binh determines its key task to invest in developing ethnic minority areas, considering this a strategic solution that will contribute to successfully implementing socio-economic development targets for the 2020 - 2030 period. Every year, the province gives priority to programmes, projects and policies to invest in building essential infrastructure, including road traffic. This is also a fundamental solution to effectively implement projects under the national target programme for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province in the 2020 - 2030 period.
