On January 18th, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the national exam for excellent students in 2024-2025 school year of 2024-2025.


The province's student delegation participated in the national exam for excellent high school students in the school year of 2024-2025. 

Accordingly, the national exam for excellent high school students in the school year of 2024-2025 took place on December 25-26, 2024 with the participation of 6,482 candidates. In total, in the whole country there are 3,803 prize-winning candidates, accounting for 58.68% of the total number of the candidates participating in the exam. Of which, Hanoi city had the largest number of candidates participating in the exam and also had the largest number of prize-winning candidates with 200 prize-winning candidates out of a total of 260 candidates participating in the exam. Ho Chi Minh City had 166 prize-winning candidates out of 236 candidates. Hanoi National University had 101 prize winners out of 124 candidates. Some other provinces and cities won many prizes including: Hai Phong 102 contestants, Bac Giang 99 contestants, Nghe An 96 contestants... 

Hoa Binh province had 77 candidates participating in the the national exam for excellent high school students in the school year of 2024-2025, of which 41 students won prizes, accounting for 53.2% of the total number of candidates, including 40 students from Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted and 1 student from the Provincial Ethnic Minority High School. 

In this competition, Hoa Binh province had 4 students winning second prizes in History, Literature, Chemistry and Russian, all of them are from Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted; there were 11 third prizes and 26 consolation prizes. 

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the number of prize-winning candidates was evenly distributed across the localities. In which, some mountainous and border localities with difficult socio-economic conditions still had candidates winning prizes at high rankings. 

This year's national exam for excellent students has 68 examination councils with 13 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese; in which Japanese is included in the exam for the first time.
