Over the years, Senior Lieutenant Bui Van Trong has been known as an "initiator” of the military high command. Besides his professional career as a military officer, he has also spent time studying new technical innovations that can be applied in his unit.

From 2016 – 2017, Trong launched two initiatives recognised by the military science council of the provincial Military Command and the Military High Command of Military Region 3.

He has been also awarded a certificate of merit by the Military High Command of Military Region 3 for his works and initiatives that promoted innovations of training equipment. Most outstanding among them is his device for examination of automotive semiconductor ignition system. This invention is important to checking technical specifications of vehicles and machines of the local armed forces.

In addition, Trong successfully built his own valve spring compressor for cars, which helps save time, by using damaged or old windscreen wipers.

According to Major Nguyen Trong Thien from the provincial Military Command’s repair workshop, it used to require two people to install or remove valve springs and these are very dangerous works as they can cause injuries for the technicians.

But with Trong’s tool, the job has become easier and safer, Thien said.

Both of Trong’s initiatives have been applied by the provincial Military Command, benefiting the repair and upgrading of the unit’s fleet of cars and machines as well as its personnel training./.
