(HBO) - The recent storm No. 3 has caused serious loss of property and crops in the area of Vay Nua Commune (Da Bac). The commune has mobilized all the forces together to help the local people in the temporary fixture and repair works to ensure the traffic and stabilize the people’s lives soon.
The inter-commune road from Vay Nua to Tien
Phong was slid down on 10 different places. In which there are 2 serious
landslide places in Duong village. On the segments of the inter-commune roads,
there are 35 sliding places with the amount of land, rocks estimated at 3,000
m³, leading to the congestion. At the moment, all the inter-commune road
segments are collapsed; people can only travel by motorcycle. Some plumbing
pipes of living water and channel constructions have been damaged seriously.
The total loss of the commune after the storm No. 3 is estimated at over 2
billion VND.

The supportive forces are excavating land to
overcome the landslide problem at the family of Mr. Ban Xuan Thu, Duong
village, Vay Nua commune (Da Bac).
Immediately after the natural disaster, Vay
Nua commune mobilized forces to the scene to support repair and temporary
fixture to stabilize the life and production of the local people. To
proactively prevent and minimize the damage to people and property caused by
floods and heavy storms, the commune has strengthened the Steering Committee of
Disaster Protection and Victim Rescue, assigning specific tasks to each member
right at the rainy season. At the same time, the commune actively reviewed and
developed the master plan of Disaster Protection and Victim Rescue closely to
reality, promoting the propaganda tasks, raising the spirit of vigilance,
taking initiative in preventing and fighting against floods, landslides, early
warning of the danger level of storms and floods, promptly removing people from
dangerous areas, raising the competence of organizing rescue and disaster
recovery in line with the "four on-the-spot" motto; urgently
reviewing and identifying key works, key regions and routes so as to take
initiative in coping with; proposing the district to urge the construction
partners to speed up the construction progress of works in their respective
localities, to assign and organize on-duty 24/24 flood prevention and combat
boards according to regulations, closely monitor the weather, incidents,
disaster occurred in the area, directing the hamlets to set up teams and groups
with the core force of police staff, Youth Union members and residential people
in the area ready to help when happening floods or heavy rain.
