(HBO) – Mai Chau district recently launched a blood donation campaign, drawing the participation of officials and staff from organisations, agencies, towns and communes as well as youths across the locality.

Themed "Donate blood to save lives”, the launching ceremony
attracted a large number of people from all walks of life. Thanks to good
communications work to raise public awareness of the significance of the act,
the event counted more than 1,000 people who came to register for blood
donation.
As many 569 blood units were collected, or 175 percent of the target set by the
province. The blood was then transported to Hoa Binh General Hospital to save
lives of many patients, and helped ease burden of blood shortage for the
medical sector./.
