(HBO) - The rural road network in Cao Phong district, the northern province of Hoa Binh has been given a facelift as compared to 2013. Bumpy roads in Yen Thuong, Yen Lap and Thung Nai communes and inter-commune routes between Bac Phong and Xuan Phong have been replaced with asphalted and concrete ones. The upgraded traffic infrastructure has helped spur local socio-economic development.

Rural roads have been concreted, helping Dao ethnic people in Tien Lam 1 hamlet in Bac Phong commune engage in goods trading.

Residents in Tien Lam 1 and Tien Lam 2 hamlets of Bac Phong commune have experienced noted changes in their lives after local roads were concreted, making it easier for them to travel by bikes and motorbikes. The roads can accommodate trucks whose weight is within the limit, and tractors.

The mountainous communes of Yen Lap and Yen Thuong have no longer faced transport problems as the 14-km road from Tay Phong commune to Khanh hamlet, Yen Thuong commune has been concreted and put into use, bringing joy to local residents. Living standards of local people have also been improved significantly.

Pham Van Thuy, head of the district’s economic and infrastructure section, said all roads in the district have met safety requirements and transport demand of locals all the year round. People’s Committees of the district and communes are managing roads with total length of 467.66 km, including 44.1 km of asphalted roads and 260.04 km of concreted roads.

In 2018, the district built 0.46 km of new concrete roads, asphalted 18.02 km of roads and paved 4 km of roads by other materials.

The locality also manages 17 bridges measuring a total 420m in length, including ten steel reinforced concrete bridges and two suspended ones. /.
