(HBO) - From the end of 2018, with the mutual consent of both the political system and the local people, the people in Manh Tien 1 village, Yen Bong commune (Lac Thuy) have joined hands to build a model of new rural residential area and garden. Although it has just been implemented for nearly a year, the face of residential area has changed a lot in a positive way.

Visiting Manh Tien 1 village, the first thing to notice is that the landscape here is much different than the one year ago. All the main roads in the village are widely concreted, ensuring the travel and transport of goods of the people. The roads in the area are brilliant with colors of flowers planted on both sides of the road. The system of public electricity lighting is invested, the circulation of the sewer system and the drainage ditches has always ensured. They are no longer blocked, causing flooding as before. The rural environment has always been preserved, 100% of the households in the village have designed the concentrated holes for the waste disposal on the land area of each family.

Manh Tien 1 hamlet was chosen as the point to build the model of "The model of new rural residential area and garden " of Lac Thuy district. With the support of the people, since the construction of The model of new rural residential area and garden finished, the households in the village have voluntarily contributed nearly 500 million VND to purchase raw materials, , to trench as drainage culverts, to buy greenery planting on both sides of the road, to build facilities and donate 1,600 m² of land for traffic roads. Besides, the households have raised the awareness of the environmental sanitation, and they have actively renovated the landscapes, the houses, organizing the environmental sanitation periodically.

According to the criteria of building a new model of rural garden, each residential area has to register 5 models of garden. However, the movement has been greatly supported by the people in the village, the first 7 households have registered, with a garden having the area of 500 m² or more. The Party committees, the appropriate authorities of the communes and villages have actively mobilized the local people to change the structure of plants and animals and to convert the inefficient rice-growing areas to different vegetable, increasing income and developing the family economy. As a result, the life of the people in the village has been improved with the average income of 35 million VND / person / year. There are 5 poor households in the hamlet, each model of garden gives an income of 35-50 million VND  a year.
