After it was recognised as a new-style rural area in 2015, Mai Ha commune in Mai Chau district continues working to reach advanced standards for a new-style rural commune. 


 Mai Ha craft village’s Lau Sieu wine is recognised as a "One Commune, One Product” good. 


An exemplary new-style rural area was developed in Dong Uong residential area, which is home to 95 households with 400 people. Dong Uong reviewed, made careful evaluation, and selected suitable standards for the locality. 

Kha Van Kien, Secretary of the Party cell of Dong Uong hamlet, said that the building of the exemplary new-style rural area received enthusiastic response from the local people, with women planting flowers along rural roads which helps create a facelift for the commune. 

Seeing the work as an endless task, officials, Party members and residents of Mai Ha commune have joined hands to improve the quality of the standards of the new-style rural areas, and strive to turn itself into an advanced new-style rural commune.

The communal Party Committee set up a steering board and a development board for new-style rural area building in Dong Uong residential area, enhanced inspection and urged the implementation of, and sought measures to remove bottlenecks for the work. 

The commune’s efforts have paid off as a number of essential infrastructure works has been developed, renovated and upgraded, meeting the demand of local production and livelihoods. 

All of the rural roads, 65% of the roads to the fields, and around 90% of the irrigational canals have been cemented, while all of the local residents have accessed to safe and regular power. The commune now has one exemplary new-style rural area and two exemplary gardens.

According to Chairman of the communal People’s Committee Nguyen Viet Tien, the commune has nearly completed advanced standards of a new-style rural area during the 2021-2025 period; however, further efforts should be made on the criteria of installation of sports equipment, and economic models with advanced technologies, among others.
