Making efforts to improve the material and spiritual life for the employees

Receiving the gifts from the company's director board, the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade unions, and the employees of GGS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Industrial Park on the left bank of Da River, Hoa Binh City) were happy and excited before the holiday with the relatives and families. On the occasion of the solar New Year in 2024, GGS Vietnam Co., Ltd. awarded over 700 sets of gifts to the employees, including wall calendars and all kinds of necessities... Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao, a company employee says: "As usual, every year, we receive gifts from businesses during holidays and Tet. This is a source of encouragement and motivation for the employees to feel secure in their dedication and contributions to help the businesses develop sustainably”.

According to the statistics, the industrial parks in the province currently create jobs for over 17,000 employees, including nearly 16,700 union members living at 43 grassroots unions. Due to the influence of the world's general economic situation, in 2023, some businesses in the industrial parks had to cut orders, leading to a situation that the employees were forced to quit their jobs. The heavily affected businesses mainly operated in the garment sector, with the average employee’s income of nearly 6 million VND/person/month. In the context of a difficult economy, the businesses in the industrial zones have made efforts to implement many solutions to improve their financial situation. At the same time, they have to pay attention to and take care of the material and spiritual life of the employees during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024.

Tessellation Hoa Binh Company Limited (Luong Son Industrial Park, Luong Son District) operates in the garment sector with a total of nearly 4,000 employees. From July to September 2023, due to the general impact of the economy, the orders were cut, nearly 1,000 employees were forced to quit the job. The company's leadership quickly overcame difficulties, stabilizing production and looking for new partners. In the last months of the year, there have been positive signs when the enterprise continuously received orders, the production line has stabilized and created new jobs for nearly 300 local employees. Ms. Dao Thu Quyen, the President of the Trade Union of Tessellation Hoa Binh Co., Ltd. says: "In the context of 2023, the enterprise faced many challenges due to the economic situation with many difficulties, fluctuations and impacts after the pandemic. However, with the role of representing and protecting the rights of the employees, the Trade Union’s Executive Committee has proactively proposed to the business owners to fully implement the regimes and policies for the employees. Before the recent solar New Year holiday, the company held a year-end review and year-end party inviting all employees to participate, integrating the organization of the cultural and artistic activities and talent performance competitions to promote the abilities and strengths of the employees; Organizing a lucky draw to express gratitude to the employees after a year of many contributions. It is expected that during the traditional Tet holiday, the company's leadership and trade union organizations will have many meaningful gifts to encourage the employees to enjoy spring and warmly welcome Tet with their families.”

Promoting the role of the trade union, the Trade Unions of the Provincial Industrial Park have effectively coordinated with the Management Board the Provincial Industrial Park to organize surveys to grasp the production and business situation in the industrial parks. They have strengthened propaganda and mobilized the businesses to implement many solutions to remove difficulties and create jobs for the local employees. They have proactively grasped the thoughts and aspirations of the grassroots trade unions, the trade union members and the employees at the enterprises to promptly reflect and make recommendations to competent the authorities to support the resolution of issues regarding the regimes, the policies, the salaries, the bonuses, the social insurance, health insurance... for the employees.

Diversifying Tet caring activities for the employees 

Recently, a working delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Mr. Bui Thanh Son, the Member of the Central Party Committee, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other provincial leaders visited and gave gifts to the employees at the Industrial Park on the left bank of Da River on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Githe people in the working delegation presented 100 sets of gifts to the employeees in difficult circumstances. At the same time, they share,d kindly visited and encouraged the employees to try to improve in life and successfully complete tasks at the enterprise.

Tessellation Hoa Binh Company Limited (Luong Son Industrial Park) organizes Tet caring activities for the employees. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, a worker at Sanko Vietnam Co., Ltd., emotionally says: "Receiving the attention of the central and the local leaders, I myself as well as the employees who received gifts in the program is very emotional. Lunar New Year is near, the gifts are a great source of encouragement to help my family celebrate Tet more fully and completely.”

Implementing Plan No. 42/KH-LĐLĐ, dated November 28, 2023 of the Provincial Labor Confederation on organizing activities to care for the union members and the employees on the occasion of Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, the Trade Union of the provincial Industrial Parks has developed a plan to organize Tet caring activities for the union members and employees. They have proactively coordinated with the business leaders in the industrial parks to carry out practical and meaningful employee-oriented caring activities such as giving Tet gifts to the employees, supporting bus tickets for the remote employees to return home to celebrate Tet, asking the employers of the enterprises to give Tet bonuses, give gifts to the employees, creating conditions to arrange transportation for the union members and the employees who want to return home to celebrate Tet and return to work after the Tet holiday to ensure safety, convenience, and thoughtfulness. They have propagated and mobilize the union members and employees to enjoy spring, celebrate Tet economically and safely, and comply with the legal regulations.

Ms. Truong Thi Hanh, the Head of Human Resources Administration Department, Bandai Vietnam Co., Ltd. of the Industrial Park on the left bank of Da River says: "Implementing the activities to care for the employees during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, the company's leadership board have coordinated with the grassroots trade union to care for and improve the material and spiritual life of the employees. Specifically, the company leaders have a 13th month salary bonus for all employees. They have implemented the regimes of Tet holiday in accordance with the regulations set forth by the State. In addition, the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union continues to review and grasp the life situation of the difficult employees or employees with serious diseases or especially difficult circumstances to continue to pay attention and support”.

According to the review, there are currently 1,100 employees in difficult circumstances in the provincial industrial parks. To carry out the activities to take care of the union members and employees during the Lunar New Year, the Trade Union of the provincial industrial parks has proactively advised the Provincial Labor Union to organize the program "The reunion Tet – sharing Spring” at Luong Son Industrial Park and Industrial Park on the left bank of Da River.

The Trade Union of the Provincial Industrial Parks has directed the grassroots trade unions to balance the revenues and the regular expenses during the year and use the unit's regular operating funds to carry out Tet caring activities for the union members and employees. They have timely grasped the thoughts and aspirations of the union members and employees. They organize warm, joyful spring and Tet activities, bearing the trade union mark to encourage the union members and employees who cannot return home to celebrate Tet. In case there are many union members and employees who do not return home to celebrate Tet, they organize a program "Tet not far from home” or the other forms suitable for each locality and unit. They propagate and encourage the employees to return to the enterprise right after the end of the Tet holiday to promote production and business. On field surveys at the industrial parks, the grassroots trade union has proactively developed a plan to take care of Tet for the union members and employees. It is expected that Tet gifts include cash or cakes, candies, jams, beer, soft drinks..., each gift ranges from 500,000 - 700,000 VND. In addition, many activities are organized to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere such as wrapping Chung cakes, giving cultural and artistic exhibition, lucky draw...

Mr. Dinh Quoc The, the Chairman of the Trade Union of the Provincial Industrial Park, affirms: Taking care of the material and spiritual life of the union members and employees during the Lunar New Year of 2024 is the responsibility of trade unions at all levels. The trade unions of the provincial industrial parks have proactively developed the specific plans and deployed them to the grassroots trade unions to carry out many practical activities, showing the concern of the trade unions and businesses for the employees. They have mobilized the resources to support the employees in difficult circumstances, with the highest spirit and determination according to the motto "All union members and employees have Tet”.
