Leaders of the communal and district Military Commands visit and present gifts to Quach Chi Bao and Quach Xuan Bac before the young men head for military service.

Following medical examinations, both Bao and Bac were informed that they are eligible to join the army. However, according to the Law on Military Obligation, one of the two will be temporarily exempted from military enlistment. Therefore, both of them have voluntary registered for military service.

Bao said young people must perform their military duty, which is also citizens’ obligation, expressing his belief that the army will give him new experiences and help him become more mature. Meanwhile, Bac said he wants to contribute to national defence.

Their father Quach Van Tai said he and other family members have encouraged the twins to fulfill their assigned military obligations, and hope that they will be more resilient and mature in the military environment.

Bui Van Cuong, head of the Military Command of Kim Boi commune, said this is the first case in the locality when both twin brothers sent in applications to voluntarily join the army at the same time.

In this recruitment round, Kim Boi has 30 young participants, four of them voluntary, he said.
