the 23rd traditional Crossing – River Swimming Competition of Television Cup in 2017.
In order to get high achievements in each
tournament, each year, the District Center of Culture and Sports held 1-2
swimming competitions, attracting many athletes from 10 to 15 communes and
towns in the area to participate in the competitions. Thereby, they can explore
new elements to participate in the district's training and talent courses. At
present, the swimming team of the district has about 30 athletes. During 10
days before each tournament, under the guidance of the coaches, the athletes
are trained in techniques, practice advanced exercises to improve their
physical and psychological aspects in competition.
Sharing with us, Bui Thanh Cong in Kim Truy
commune said: "If swimmers are required to distribute stamina in a race at
cross- river swimming competitions, at the distance swimming competition,
athletes need to show their agility and precision. Therefore, to get high
achievements in each tournament, I myself as well as the players in the team
always improve our skills; enhance the training to achieve the best
performance. With the enthusiastic guidance from the coach, I am also often trained
by experienced athletes, such as Bui Van Binh, Bui Van Lanh who shared valuable
experiences after each tournament.
In addition, in order to equip children with
drowning prevention skills, on the occasion of the annual summer, Kim Boi
District Culture and Sports Center took the initiative in developing plans to
open two swimming lessons for pupils at Boi Cau village (Kim Boi commune) and
Que Bo village (Kim Tung commune) attracted about 50 learners. This has created
a useful playground for pupils, as well as seeking new talents to participate
in the tournaments.
"like other localities in the province,
Kim Boi district is facing many difficulties in swimming development, the
system of facilities to meet the training needs of athletes is lacking; the service
places for training and competitions have not been built. In addition, due to
the limited budget, some athletes having won high achievements in many
tournaments have not been paid any attention, motivation and timely reward.
Therefore, Kim Boi District really needs to get more support from different
levels of government to develop their swimming content to get higher
achievements, "added Mr. Bui Duc Nghia, Deputy Director of Kim Boi
District Culture and Sports Center.
