Cao Phong has paid due attention to developing tourism, creating impetus for socio-economic development towards completing the targets set in the resolution of the district’s 28th Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Mung hamlet in Hop Phong commune has become an attractive destination for visitors on Lunar New Year holiday.

The Year of the Snake ushered in waves of domestic and international visitors to Cao Phong's diverse attractions. The Hoa Binh lake tourism site bustled with boats ferrying thousands of visitors to the Thac Bo temple and surrounding scenic areas. Particularly, the Vietnam Scientists Heritage Park in Bac Phong commune, a renowned destination among tourists from far and wide, has welcomed more than 10,000 visitors from the outset of the year. It is offering a 5% discount on entrance fees to stimulate tourism.

According to Bui Van Nhat, head of the district bureau of culture, science and information, the park is a premier modern complex spanning 30 hectares, featuring naturalistic architecture and housing exhibitions of scientific research.

At Bong Lai temple in Cao Phong town, visitors thronged for spiritual tourism, with various religious practices organised such as "chau van” (ritual singing). Besides, other destinations within the complex, including Dau Rong mountain, saw significant visitor traffic.

Last year, the district welcomed some 457,000 tourist arrivals, up 13.7% year-on-year. This included 5,430 international visitors and 451,570 domestic tourists, generating tourism revenue exceeding 240 billion VND (9.4 million USD). In the first two months of 2025, it hosted 85,000 visitors and gained 51 billion VND in tourism revenue.

Nhat said that with a view to promoting the tourism industry, the district administration has ordered competent sides to raise public awareness of the significance of tourism to local socio-economic development, while directing the enhancement of management and implementation of tourism development plans. Additionally, it has carried out inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, traffic management, food hygiene, and disease prevention requirements.
