Ngoi Hoa Ecotourism Site (Suoi Hoa commune, Tan
Lac district, Hoa Binh province) has introduced various distinctive tourism
products, creating a highlight for ecotourism and resort experiences in Hoa Binh.
Impressive natural landscape and unique cultural identity
According to Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Hoa Binh's most valuable assets are its ethnic identity and stunning natural landscapes. In recent years, the province has attracted eco-tourism and resort projects, some of which are already in operation. These developments prioritize conservation, ensuring that economic benefits do not come at the cost of environmental disruption.
Serena Resort Kim Boi is located in Khai Đoi hamlet, Sao Bay commune (Kim Boi district) sits alongside the Boi River, framed by majestic forests on one side and vast rice fields on the other. Notably, this resort is built on land blessed with natural hot mineral springs, offering health benefits and physical therapy. Thanks to its unique features, the resort has become an ideal retreat, attracting visitors year-round.
Traveler Pham Huong Giang from Hanoi shared: "On weekends, my family visits Serena Resort Kim Boi for relaxation. What captivates us is the warm, nature-friendly atmosphere. The hot mineral springs nestled among lush greenery provide a soothing experience as you soak in the warm water. The resort also offers various high-quality services, such as spa treatments, tennis, pickleball, gym, yoga, and cycling, ensuring a comfortable and fulfilling vacation. I also enjoy the food here - it’s delicious, featuring a diverse range of local cuisine."
Beyond the province’s pristine natural scenery, especially the fresh air and picturesque landscapes of Hoa Binh lake, local ecotourism and resorts emphasize traditional cultural values of the mountainous regions. For instance, Mai Chau Hideaway Ecotourism Resort in Son Thuy commune (Mai Chau district) is surrounded by lush nature and a serene natural lake. It features five stilt-house accommodations, each reflecting the cultural heritage of ethnic communities such as the Muong, Thai, Dao, and Mong. Meanwhile, Serena Resort Kim Boi incorporates simplicity into its villa designs, using thatched roofs, wooden floors, and bamboo furnishings, creating a peaceful retreat that blends harmoniously with its surroundings.
Attractive and competitive tourism products
Ngoi Hoa Ecotourism Site officially opened at the beginning of 2025, becoming the first combined resort and entertainment destination in Suoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac district). Its distinctive and appealing tourism products have made it a highlight of Hoa Binh’s ecotourism and resort offerings.
Nguyen Phuong Cham, a visitor from Hoa Binh city excitedly shared: "There’s no need to travel far, right here at the magnificent Hoa Binh lake, amidst breathtaking scenery, is a must-visit destination featuring stunning check-in spots, flawless services including shuttle transportation, hotels, bungalow stays, restaurants, and an array of unique experiences: the longest inflatable slide in Southeast Asia, grass sliding, jet skiing, kayaking, river cruises… Undoubtedly, this new attraction will see an explosive increase in visitors shortly.”
Beyond leveraging its strengths in wellness and sports tourism, as seen at Phoenix Golf Resort in Luong Son district or resorts in Kim Boi district, various locations around Hoa Binh lake have become favorites among tourists. They offer unique tourism products and diverse water-based activities, including floating relaxation in infinity pools, leisurely cycling along lakeside trails, and cave exploration. Several destinations are particularly popular among international travelers for their authentic ethnic village experiences, where traditional culture is preserved.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism further noted that Hoa Binh Province has more than 50 ecotourism and resort sites operated by businesses. High-end resorts with scenic landscapes and fresh climates include Mai Chau Hideaway, Mai Chau Ecolodge, Ba Khan Village Resort, and Avana Retreat (Mai Chau district); Du Lake Resort (Hoa Binh City); La Saveur Resort (Luong Son district); An Lac Ecofarm and Hot Springs, Serena Resort, and Mandala Retreat (Kim Boi district); and Ngoi Hoa Ecotourism Area (Tan Lac district). The ecotourism sector is developing towards increased competitiveness, professionalism, and hospitality while preserving the distinct cultural identity of Hoa Binh.
Additionally, these ecotourism and resort sites are focusing on new tourism products, including business retreats that integrate conferences, high-quality entertainment, and wellness-focused experiences. Community and cultural tourism are also gaining traction, elevating Hoa Binh as a premier weekend retreat destination that attracts high-spending travelers and international tourists seeking distinctive cultural and natural experiences.
