Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Head of the Provincial Tourism Steering Committee, was making the directive speech at the conference.

In 2024, the Provincial Tourism Steering Committee successfully directed its member sectors to fulfill their assigned tasks, enhancing the effectiveness of state tourism management. The implementation of the central and local tourism resolutions, planning, programs, projects, and development plans was actively carried out by relevant sectors. The general planning for the functional areas and zoning plans were gradually implemented with a focus on the zoning plans for the tourism area within Hoa Binh Lake. The efforts were also made in tourism product development, workforce training, and environmental resource protection. The cooperation in tourism development, promotion and advertising was strengthened, contributing to the strong tourism growth. Hoa Binh welcomed over 4.5 million turns of domestic and international visitors, generating a total revenue of 4.784 trillion VND from tourism activities. Notably, Hoa Binh was recognized by CN Traveller magazine as the only representative from Vietnam on its list of the 71 most beautiful destinations in the world, thanks to its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural experiences.

At the conference, the tourism businesses and investors shared the challenges and obstacles encountered while implementing the projects and activities in the province. They also put forward the various proposals and recommendations. The representatives from the relevant departments and agencies provided responses and clarifications on these issues.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan emphasized the need for the Tourism Steering Committee members and the Provincial Tourism Association to develop clear plans with the specific objectives and actions. He urged the implementation of Directive No. 49-CT/TU, issued on December 27, 2023, by the Provincial Party Standing Committee, which calls for strengthened Party leadership in tourism management and development. The key directives include: The Department of Construction must prioritize the planning tasks, ensuring that the zoning plan for the tourism area within Hoa Binh Lake is completed by June 2025; and accelerating the infrastructure and transportation development to improve accessibility to tourism destinations. The local authorities and departments should actively support and collaborate with businesses and investors; the effective implementation of the project to preserve and promote ethnic cultural heritage. It is necessary to continue efforts in the leadership, guidance and execution of the key goals, tasks, and solutions for tourism development.
