As the new year begins and festive spirit fills the air, visitors flock to Hoa Binh lake, often dubbed the "Ha Long Bay on land," to enjoy its breathtaking beauty and serene atmosphere. In spring, the lake comes alive with lush greenery and delicate blossoms, while boats carrying eager tourists glide across its tranquil waters.

Hoa Binh lake tourist site draws tourists to explore local landscapes and culture.

Starting from Bich Ha port in Hoa Binh city, travelers have ample time to take in the lake’s scenic landscape and experience the local life. Boats line up, ready to take visitors on a journey across the vast lake, where towering limestone islands rise from the water, creating a stunning natural panorama. Whether first-time visitors or returning travelers, everyone is captivated by the lake’s peaceful beauty.

Among the tourists, Lan from Hanoi shared her feelings: "I’ve traveled to many places during springtime, but Hoa Binh lake offers a unique sense of peace and relaxation." Quang, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, was equally impressed: "This is my first time here, and I’m amazed by the spectacular scenery and the warmth of the local people. I especially enjoyed the Muong people’s specialties, like grilled fish and ruou can (winestored in a bigjarand drunk with longbamboostraws). I’ll definitely come back."

Many travelers choose to start their journey from Thung Nai port in Cao Phong district, which offers quick access to key attractions. From here, it takes just 15 minutes to reach the sacred Chua Thac Bo temple, a popular site for springtime prayers. Visitors also explore Giang Mo village in Binh Thanh commune, the Cu Chinh Lan Hero Monument, and the Muong Cultural Space Museum in Thai Binh ward, Hoa Binh city.

The first stop on this spring voyage is Thac Bo temple, where pilgrims pray for peace and good fortune in the new year. The temple offers stunning views of mist-covered mountain ranges. Nearby, Thac Bo cave impresses visitors with its magnificent stalactites and shimmering formations, illuminated to create an enchanting atmosphere.

A visit to Ngoi village in Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district, offers a deeper dive into the local culture. Tourists savor unique Muong delicacies like grilled Da River fish and ruou can while enjoying traditional music and dance performances. "Thanks to tourism, our lives have improved," said Hoa, a resident of Ngoi village. "We’re proud to share our Muong heritage with visitors."

This year, Hoa Binh lake offers even more exciting activities, including kayaking tours, luxury cruises, and diverse dining options. Infrastructure upgrades have also enhanced the experience at Chua Thac Bo temple, ensuring a cleaner, more organised environment for pilgrims.

As the journey on Hoa Binh lake comes to an end, visitors leave with a deep appreciation for the region’s natural beauty and cultural richness. Its captivating scenery and warm hospitality promise to welcome travelers back time and time again.
