Doan Ket commune of Yen Thuy district has recently held a ceremony to receive a certificate recognising Ta communal house as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic site.
A leader of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presents
the certificate recognising Ta communal house as a provincial-level historical
and cultural relic site to Doan Ket commune.
The Ta communal house used to be located in Ta
village, Yen Thi commune, Lang Phong canton, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province,
so the local people named the relic after the village. After many changes in
administrative boundaries, the communal house is still called Ta communal
house, and currently located in Thanh Binh hamlet, Doan Ket commune, Yen Thuy
district of Hoa Binh province.
Currently, the Ta Communal House Festival is
held annually on the 10th and 11th days of the first lunar month. On the 1st
and 15th days of each lunar month, villagers prepare offerings and go to the
communal house to pray for luck and peace.
The Ta Communal House was originally built with
bamboo and thatched roof. Around 1925, the communal house was renovated with
ironwood, covering an area of 40 sq.m, with a J-shaped architecture. Currently,
it has a total planned area of over 2,000sq.m, built with bricks and roofed
with tiles. The communal house still preserves antiques such as incense bowls,
palanquins, swords, gongs, and parasols.
With its values and research results, it was
recognised by the provincial People's Committee as a provincial-level
historical and cultural relic site on February 11, 2025. The recognition not
only preserves the good cultural values of the nation's belief in worshipping
gods and village guardian spirits, but also contributes to building an advanced
Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
