Ichiba green melon of Truong Thinh High-Tech joint Stock Company, Thong Nhat commune (Lac Thuy) meets the provincial 3-star OCOP standard.
In recent years, Lac Thuy has paid attention to selecting and putting into production varieties of crops and livestock with high economic values. Concerted quality management right from the seed production stage and cultivation process contributes to increasing productivity and output, improving production efficiency, and creating sustainable product values for the agricultural sector, especially for local strengths such as tea, custard apple, orange, dragon fruit, goat, and Lac Thuy chicken.
The district has focused on developing fruit trees with high economic values, and following GlobalGap and VietGap standards. To date, there are 30 facilities certified with GlobalGap and VietGap in Lac Thuy.
In addition, it has promoted digital transformation in crop cultivation, and improved production efficiency and product traceability. Attention has been paid to building key agricultural product brands and specialty agricultural products associated with OCOP products. To date, the district has 23 OCOP products, of which six are rated 4-star and 17 3-star.
Hoang Thi Thu Hang, Vice Chairwoman of the district People's Committee, said OCOP is an important economic development programme, promoting production associated with the development of agricultural products, restructuring the agricultural sector, developing the rural economy towards increasing value, and contributing to improving the quality of new-style rural areas. The focus of the programme is product development and standardisation.
In the coming time, the district will concentrate on enhancing the role and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels, especially at the grassroots level, in leading and directing the implementation of the programme, promoting the strength of political and social organisations, and encouraging producers to participate in connectivity and trade promotion activities, particularly on digital technology platforms, and at agricultural and OCOP product fairs, added Hang.
