The 25th Party congress of the Lac Thuy district for the 2020-2025 term identified the development of industry, trade, and services as its top priorities to drive the shift of the economic structure towards increasing the proportion of industry and services while reducing the that of agriculture, thus contributing to creating a motivation for socio-economic development in the locality.


 

Nakata Vietnam Pack JSC invests in the Phu Thanh II industrial cluster in Lac Thuy district, creating stable jobs and income for many local workers.

Nakata Vietnam Pack JSC has invested over 70 billion VND (nearly 2.75 million USD) to build a 2.5-ha factory at the Phu Thanh II industrial cluster since 2022.

Tran Minh Ngoc, a manager of the company said the firm primarily produces packaging from virgin plastic pellets, creating jobs for 30 local workers, with an income ranging from 7 to 15 million VND per person/month. 

 

The business plans to further expand its production scale, aiming to create more job opportunities for local laborers in the coming time.

The Phu Thanh II industrial cluster covers an area of 71.9 ha. As many as 11 secondary investors have been granted in-principle approval for investment with a total registered capital of over 1.124 trillion VND. The businesses operating in the park have created jobs for about 300 workers with stable incomes ranging from 6 to 7 million VND per person/month.

Lac Thuy has five industrial clusters (ICs) included in the industrial and handicraft development planning of the province until 2020, with a vision to 2025 with a total area of 282.25 ha, of which, four have been approved for establishment with a total area of 215.86 ha. 

 

To make breakthroughs in attracting investment and developing industry, the district’s authority has accelerated administrative procedure reforms in a transparent and public manner, especially in areas of business registration, land use, and construction. It also offers tax incentives for businesses, and collaborates with local specialised agencies to provide information and promote the image, advantages, and potential of the locality to attract investment.

To realise the Resolution of the district’s 25th Party Congress and make breakthroughs in industrial development, in the coming time, the district will concentrate on upgrading the existing ICs, and developing new ICs with integrated infrastructure to meet investors' infrastructure demand. 

 

Chairman of the Lac Thuy district People’s Committee Nguyen Van Hai said in recent years, the district has placed a strong emphasis on effective planning, mobilising investment resources to develop socio-economic infrastructure, thus creating an appealing environment for investors.

The local authority has also paid attention to improving the quality of governance, promoting administrative reform; applying support policies to attract and facilitate enterprises’ investment in developing IC infrastructure; and creating a transparent mechanism to attract investors.
