White sugarcane is the main crop of Yen Lap commune (Cao Phong)

Mr. Bui Ngoc Hoa, the Chairman of Yen Lap Commune People's Committee, said that the economic life of the commune is mainly based on agricultural production, in which white sugarcane is considered as the main crop earning income with an area of 180 hectares. The Commune Party Committee, the commune authorities propagate and mobilize people to actively change the structure of plants and animals to raise the income. Many households have converted their gardening to plant citrus trees. Most of them are V2 oranges, yellow oranges, Dien grapefruit, etc. These are expected to be harvested in the 2018-2019 season. In addition, the commune maintains and develops to raise livestock and poultry with over 8,000 animals. To help families develop and expand their economic model, Yen Lap commune cooperates with the District Social Policy Bank to create favorable conditions for households to access preferential capital.

Thanks to the policies of the Party and the State, the poor and policy beneficiaries have access to preferential capital and economic development conditions. However, due to the limited intellectual knowledge of the farmers in rural areas, not all the poor households being given loan can use that effectively. As a result, the departments, unions of the commune have cooperated with functional branches such as Agricultural Encouragement Center, Plant Protection and Veterinary Services to organize training courses on transferring science and technology on cultivation and husbandry. Moreover, there are guides for members to choose the right model. As a result, people have used loans effectively, many households escape poverty and become rich.
