(HBO) - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province Bui Van Khanh and representatives of provincial departments and agencies have recently held a working session with the People’s Committee of Luong Son district on the implementation of a plan to improve its business environment and competitiveness capacity.

In
recent years, Luong Son district has directed administrations at all levels and
sectors to well implement administrative procedure reform, thus creating favourable
conditions for enterprises and local people to invest in business and
production.
A report delivered at the working session showed
that in 2016 and the first half of 2017, the local "one-stop-shop” unit
processed 636 administrative procedure documents of firms and investors. All of
the documents were handled on schedule, of which 44 percent were processed
ahead of schedule.
Administrative
procedures, investment and businesses policy regulations and planning
information were uploaded onto the district’s e-portal and publicly posted at
the "one-stop-shop” unit to help businesses, investors and local residents get
easy access to the necessary information.
In
2016, Luong Son district welcomed 33 projects and carried out site clearance
for 19 projects with the total compensation mounting up to 16.4 billion VND.
In the first six months of 2017, the district continued with site clearance
for the 19 projects and had completed the work for six projects by June 30 with
compensation of 12 billion VND. It also received eight new projects, of which seven
projects have seen site clearance implemented.
Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of
the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh spoke highly of the district’s
efforts in improving its business environment and competitiveness capacity,
especially promptly handling administrative procedures for individuals and
organisations.
However,
the district should speed up site clearance so that the projects could be deployed
as scheduled, he stressed.
Regarding the task in
the coming time, Khanh asked Luong Son district
to soon put the Public Administration Centre in operation while continuing the acceleration
of administrative reform.
The district was also requested to make greater efforts to attract
more investment with careful selection and assessment, improve the quality of
human resources and mobilise investment to develop local socio-economic
infrastructure systems.
Since the beginning of this year, under the direction of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Sub-Department of Agricultural, Forestry, and Fishery Product Quality Management has strengthened the integration of the professional activities to promote and guide the organizations and individuals in the production and trading of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products to comply with the legal regulations regarding the use of chemicals, pesticides and veterinary medicines in crop cultivation, livestock farming and aquaculture. They also provide guidance to processing and manufacturing establishments on keeping the records to trace the product origins and using food additives from the approved list according to the regulations.
