(HBO) - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province Bui Van Khanh and representatives of provincial departments and agencies have recently held a working session with the People’s Committee of Luong Son district on the implementation of a plan to improve its business environment and competitiveness capacity.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh chaired the working session.

In recent years, Luong Son district has directed administrations at all levels and sectors to well implement administrative procedure reform, thus creating favourable conditions for enterprises and local people to invest in business and production.

A report delivered at the working session showed that in 2016 and the first half of 2017, the local "one-stop-shop” unit processed 636 administrative procedure documents of firms and investors. All of the documents were handled on schedule, of which 44 percent were processed ahead of schedule.

Administrative procedures, investment and businesses policy regulations and planning information were uploaded onto the district’s e-portal and publicly posted at the "one-stop-shop” unit to help businesses, investors and local residents get easy access to the necessary information.

In 2016, Luong Son district welcomed 33 projects and carried out site clearance for 19 projects with the total compensation mounting up to 16.4 billion VND.  In the first six months of 2017, the district continued with site clearance for the 19 projects and had completed the work for six projects by June 30 with compensation of 12 billion VND. It also received eight new projects, of which seven projects have seen site clearance implemented.

Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh spoke highly of the district’s efforts in improving its business environment and competitiveness capacity, especially promptly handling administrative procedures for individuals and organisations.

However, the district should speed up site clearance so that the projects could be deployed as scheduled, he stressed.

Regarding the task in the coming time, Khanh asked Luong Son district to soon put the Public Administration Centre in operation while continuing the acceleration of administrative reform.

The district was also requested to make greater efforts to attract more investment with careful selection and assessment, improve the quality of human resources and mobilise investment to develop local socio-economic infrastructure systems.
